The blue diamond derives its exceptional colour from minute traces of boron embedded in its crystal structure. This natural colour, a deep blue once reserved for legends such as the Hope Diamond, is now within reach thanks to our lab-grown diamonds.

Blue, without the mine

A diamond's blue comes from boron trapped in its crystal structure. One atom in a million. That is all that separates a colourless diamond from the Bleu de France, stolen during the Revolution, recut, and known today as the Hope.

Those stones sit behind glass. Ours sit on hands. Grown in a laboratory, never mined, our blue diamond keeps the hardness of 10 and the refractive index of a diamond.

A sapphire is a corundum: hardness 9, refractive index 1.77. It absorbs. A deep, velvet blue that keeps the light to itself.

A blue diamond is pure carbon: hardness 10, index 2.42. It gives the light back. Lighter, more mobile, it shifts with the angle.
